Winterland is coming to the CSRA this Christmas season!  Full Press Release:
❄️ ❄️ ❄️ Augusta on and Lights of the South announced a strategic partnership earlier this year, collaborating to create even more magic for families near and far. The new name for the combined holiday attraction will be Winterland!
Augusta on Ice co-founder Chris Boerner explains the new name: “With the recent ownership change of Lights of the South and the new partnership with Augusta on Ice we wanted to create a brand identity that will capture the magic of what we are building toward. Winterland will encompass all of the exciting elements that made both events a success last year; The amazing 2 mile lights display, the 5,000+ s/f ice skating rink, s’mores stations, Santa photos, Candy Land, and more!”
Lights of the South’s Mark Jackson is excited about the how the event is evolving. “Since the ownership and management changes just 2 years ago, we have been looking for ways to inject excitement and make improvements to Lights of the South. We believe with Winterland that we are taking steps to improve the overall experience not only for the 2018 season, but also for the years to come. These changes will enable us to make our event a true regional destination.”
Winterland opens to the public in Grovetown on November 16th and will remain open until January 6th, 2019.
Tickets are on sale now at:  www.visitwinterland.com

Full Statement:
The opportunity to celebrate Augusta On Ice’s inaugural year in the heart of the CSRA was a true privilege. The memories
that families from Augusta as well as the greater CSRA and beyond made while enjoying DowntownAugusta were priceless. Our intent when we dreamt up Augusta On Ice was to create a winter wonderland where families could
come together and make memories year after year, eventually becoming part of the fabric of the CSRA.An event that would match the stuff of our dreams proves to be a huge undertaking, and while we found great success in 2017, we realized that the heart and soul of Augusta On Ice is the skating rink. The joy our rink brought was immeasurable and as we move forward we want to focus on this as a core
of what we do well. We recently had the pleasure of sitting next to Mr. Mark Jackson at a social occasion and through our
conversation discovered that he is the Manager of Lights of The South. Mark shared his enthusiasm for
his event and expressed great interest in partnering with us. We realized that partnering with Lights of The South provided EXACTLY the type of experience we had been dreaming about for families from the CSRA and beyond!
We are committed to downtown and are actively working on other projects that support and demonstrate our commitment to the growth and success of Downtown Augusta. We are grateful to the Commission as well as the Parks department for being good partners for 2017 AOI. We know that the
new and improved partnership with Lights of the South and Augusta On Ice will prove to be a regional draw benefit
